Why Take a Bhutan Cultural Tour?

A Tiny Buddhist Country with Unique Bhutanese Architecture. Exploring Bhutan allows you to immerse yourself in Buddhist culture and history through visits to various monasteries such as Tiger's Nest, Kyichu Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, Jambay Lhakhang, as well as iconic Dzongs like Paro Dzong, Thimphu Dzong, Punakha Dzong, Trongsa Dzong, and Jakar Dzong. Behind the brilliant architecture, you will not miss the stories about notable figures such as King Songtsen Gampo (who built 108 temples, including Kyichu Lhakhang), Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava; introduced Buddhism to Bhutan), Pema Lingpa (a renowned treasure revealer in Bhutan), Drukpa Kunley (Divine Madman, a legendary Buddhist saint associated with fertility worship), Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal (Founder of Modern Bhutan, standardized Bhutan National Dress, created Bhutan Teschu Festival), Thangthong Gyalpo (Iron Bridge builder).
Is Bhutanese culture similar to Tibetan culture? Visit Bhutan to find out the answer firsthand. Bhutan, known as “the Land at the End of Tibet”, is located in the Himalayan region, bordering the Tibetan Plateau. This explains why the Bhutanese people use the Tibetan script for writing, even though they now speak both Dzongkha (which is similar to the Tibetan language) and English. Dzongkha plays a crucial role in Bhutan's national identity and cultural preservation. Learning basic Dzongkha phrases can enhance your experience when visiting Bhutan and show respect for the local culture.
Photos of the Kings of Bhutan Displayed Throughout the Country. As a unique cultural experience in Bhutan, the photos of the kings help travelers connect with the country's history and understand the role of the monarchy in its society. The Bhutanese people hold deep affection and respect for their kings, and displaying their photos is a means of expressing this sentiment. To date, five Kings have played crucial roles in shaping Bhutan into the unique and thriving nation it is today: Ugyen Wangchuck (Reign: 1907-1926), Jigme Wangchuck (Reign: 1926-1952), Jigme Dorji Wangchuck (Reign: 1952-1972), Jigme Singye Wangchuck (Reign: 1972-2006), and Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck (Reign: 2006-present). The current King continues to champion Gross National Happiness and environmental sustainability.

The whole trip was fabulous
The whole trip was fabulous. I contacted with my advisor Kayla, she’s very supportive all the way. I spent the best birthday time ever in such a special place. My driver wangchuk and guide Cheni are very experienced, they gave me a lot of suggestions on how to explore both the cultural and natural environment in Bhutan. The hotel is over expectation as well. We booked for three stars but somehow we had a four stars experience. We stayed in very beautiful resort and could make some fire on our own. I definitely would like to visit more and more in the future.
