This 9.6 km trek to the Tiger's Nest Monastery takes approximately 5–6 hours. For a more relaxed ascent, horses (Optional, self-paid) are available to reach the halfway cafeteria. Today, we head to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, which is a 1.5-hour drive (50km) away. Along the way, we will stop at the Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge. Once in Thimphu (2,340m), you will enjoy a full day of sightseeing, visiting the Buddha Dordenma Statue, National Memorial Chorten, Motithang Takin Preserve, and the historic Tashichho Dzong.
Stop at the Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge to experience a unique piece of 15th-century history. Constructed by the "Iron Bridge Maker," Thangthong Gyalpo, this structure features iron chains and colorful prayer flags. Though the temple is restricted to outside viewing, walking the bridge offers a rare, tactile connection to sacred Bhutanese engineering and the beautiful scenery of the Paro River.
Then, visit the Buddha Dordenma Statue (Buddha Point), the world’s largest sitting Shakyamuni statue and a gilded landmark of Thimphu. Housing 125,000 smaller Buddhas, this 51.5-meter icon hosts sacred Vajra Dances during festivals. Beyond its spiritual power, the site provides a magnificent panorama, overlooking the city’s unique red and green-roofed architecture from one of the valley's highest vantage points.
As Bhutan’s largest city, Thimphu is unique for its lack of traffic lights and railways. Begin your visit at the National Memorial Chorten, where you can join locals in a clockwise kora (circumambulation). This traditional practice offers a meaningful way to engage with residents, offering insight into their daily lives and the profound philosophy of happiness that defines the kingdom.
Visit the National Memorial Chorten, an iconic stupa built to honor the "Father of Modern Bhutan" and symbolize world peace. Afterward, explore the Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s national animal. Legend says the Takin—a unique blend of goat and cow—was created by the "Divine Madman," Drukpa Kunley, offering a fascinating glimpse into the kingdom’s mythical and natural heritage.
Explore Tashichho Dzong, the "Fortress of the Glorious Religion" and Bhutan’s seat of government since 1952. Located by the Wang Chu River, it houses the King’s offices and the Je Khenpo’s summer residence. In autumn, its northern courtyard hosts the Thimphu Tshechu Festival, famous for its sacred masked dances and cultural rituals.

Typically, you’ll spend 1–2 nights in Paro, 1–2 nights in Thimphu, 1–2 nights in Punakha, with the possibility of 1 night in Trongsa and 2 nights in Bumthang. Accommodations will be in twin‑bed standard rooms.
2. Excellent Locations & Comfort: All our selected 3-star hotels are in prime locations, usually near the main attractions or Dzongs. Each hotel provides high-quality service, organic food, and clean, comfortable rooms, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable stay at every destination.
