Today, you and your group will immerse yourself in Beijing’s rich history, exploring its most iconic landmarks, imperial grandeur, and exquisite royal gardens.
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square and a symbol of modern China. This historic site has witnessed some of the most significant events in China’s history. From here, you can capture great photos of Tiananmen Gate, an iconic image seen daily on CCTV News.
From Tiananmen Square, you’ll walk to the imposing and magnificent Forbidden City, the world’s largest palace complex and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once home to 24 emperors during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, this 500-year-old marvel served as China’s political and ceremonial center. With more than 8,700 rooms, the Forbidden City is not only the largest and best-preserved collection of ancient buildings in China but also a "city within a city," much like the Vatican in Rome. Enter through the Meridian Gate and follow the central axis to explore the highlights of this imperial masterpiece. Admire the splendid architecture and countless ancient treasures while your guide shares fascinating stories of the emperors and their lives within these grand halls.
Next, take a short 15-minute walk to Jingshan Park, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of modern Beijing and the russet rooftops of the Forbidden City from its hilltop.
In the afternoon, you’ll head to the enchanting Summer Palace, also known as the "Museum of Royal Gardens." Once a summer retreat for China’s imperial families, the Summer Palace is a masterpiece of landscape design. Its grounds feature a harmonious blend of temples, pavilions, gardens, lakes, bridges, gate-towers, and corridors. Take a leisurely stroll through its scenic pathways, admire the imperial architecture, and soak in the serene beauty of the lakes and hilltop vistas, which evoke the tranquil landscapes of traditional Chinese paintings.
Beijing's Forbidden City is closed on Mondays. On those days, you will instead visit the Temple of Heaven or Prince Gong's Mansion.)

This morning, you will journey northwest of Beijing (about 1.5–2 hours, 73 km) to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, one of the most spectacular and well-preserved parts of this world-famous landmark. With a history spanning over 2,000 years and stretching more than 3,000 miles across northern China, the Great Wall stands as one of the most awe-inspiring ancient wonders on the planet.
The Mutianyu Great Wall connects to the Jiankou section in the west and the Gubeikou section in the east. Known as the longest and best fully-restored section of the Wall, Mutianyu offers a quieter, more serene experience with fewer tourists. It is celebrated for its 23 Ming-era watchtowers and breathtaking views.
Take a cable car up to the 14th watchtower and begin your unforgettable hike along the Wall, exploring its western route. Surrounded by lush green pines and cypresses, the Mutianyu section winds majestically across the rolling hills, creating a stunning contrast with the vast landscape. For those up for a challenge, climb to the 20th watchtower, where you’ll feel an incredible sense of achievement and fulfill your Great Wall dream. Don’t forget to capture this once-in-a-lifetime experience with as many photos as you like!
After your incredible Great Wall adventure, return to downtown Beijing and stop to admire two iconic landmarks from the 2008 Beijing Olympics: the Bird’s Nest (Beijing National Stadium) and the Water Cube (Beijing National Aquatics Center). Both architectural marvels have become symbols of modern Beijing and were also utilized during the 2022 Winter Olympics. Take some time to snap photos of these world-renowned structures.
Finally, transfer back to your hotel in Beijing.

In the event that you need to cancel your trip, please ensure that you submit a written cancellation request. The calculation of cancellation fees will begin from the date we receive your written request.
The cancellation fees will be calculated as follows:
1. Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall + Old Hutong Culture
We have replaced the “Bird's Nest + Water Cube” visit with a deeper dive into Beijing's traditional Hutong culture. After the Great Wall, we will head to Nanluoguxiang. From there, you are within walking distance of the Bell and Drum Towers, Yandaixie Street, and the Shichahai/Houhai area.
Select your travel dates and click “join-in a tour”. You will get a free enquiry and don’t need to pay immediately. After sending us your requirements, one of our professional travel experts will get back to you within 0.5 to 24 hours, and we guarantee to reserve a place for you first.
When all the information has been confirmed, then you make the payment. Please feel free to contact the travel expert directly if you have any questions prior to booking.
The deadline for receiving guests is tentatively 7 days before departure. For trips to Tibet and the Yangtze River Three Gorges, the deadline is extended to 15 days before departure.
In a group tour, you will transfer to tourist attractions within one city by coach. The maximum group size is 16 people, ensuring a small group for a comfortable travel pace.
The coaches selected are spacious and comfortable. For travel between destinations, we use domestic flights (economy seat) or high-speed trains (second class seat, usually under 6 hours). Local drivers will pick you up at the airport/train station and escort you to the hotel.
B stands for breakfast, served at your hotel each morning.
L stands for lunch. The restaurants we arrange are designated tourism restaurants approved by local tourism administration, maintaining excellent hygiene. Your guide will assist you in ordering dishes.
D stands for dinner. Please refer to the daily itinerary — dinners are usually excluded so you can try authentic Chinese food and local snacks. However, if you take the Yangtze River cruise, dinners will be included onboard. Similarly, during trips to Tibet, dinner is included when visiting Mount Everest Base Camp (e.g., Tibetan hot pot).
If you have special dietary requirements (vegetarian, halal, kosher, Indian, or gluten-free), please notify us before booking. We will do our best to accommodate you.
(1) Occupying a bed: Children will be charged the adult rate.
(2) Not occupying a bed: Children will be charged the group tour fee minus the single room difference. Any ticket discounts will be refunded.
If you are traveling alone and prefer a private room, a single room supplement will apply. Please contact our travel experts for the exact fee.
(1) Free pick-up for flights/trains arriving between 08:00 and 22:00.
(2) Free drop-off for flights/trains departing between 09:00 and 23:00.

In a China group tour, you will stay in well-selected 3-star hotels located in convenient areas at each destination. All hotels feature windows, air-conditioning, hot water, showers, and Wi-Fi to ensure a comfortable stay.
For travelers taking a Yangtze River cruise, the ship will provide a relaxing experience, including comfortable accommodations between the Chongqing and Yichang section. For travelers visiting Mount Everest in Tibet, accommodations will be basic — you will stay at a camp or hostel at Mount Everest Base Camp.
You will share a standard twin room (two beds) with your travel partner. If you are traveling as a family of two, sharing the same room will be ideal. If you prefer to have your own room, a single room supplement will apply.
