If you have limited time in China - around 3 days - it’s a great idea to explore Xi’an in a small group at a budget-friendly price.
Xi’an is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, having served as the capital under 13 dynasties throughout Chinese history. Moreover, it is likely the second most popular tourist destination in China, as it is home to “The Eighth Wonder of the World” - the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, featuring a collection of over 8,000 life-size terracotta warriors and horses.
Xi’an is a hub of brilliant cultures and religions. Take a leisurely stroll along the Ming-era city wall for a glimpse of what an ancient capital once looked like, and visit the vibrant Muslim Quarter to experience the unique fusion of Han and Muslim cultures. The legend of the East lives on in every corner of Xi’an - come and create your own story here!

| Day | Place | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| 1-3 | Xian | Terracotta Warriors, Ancient Wall, Bell Tower, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and Muslim Quarter |
Nihao! Welcome to Xi’an, the Ancient Capital of 13 Dynasties. Upon your arrival at the airport or train station in Xi’an, your driver will be waiting at the exit to warmly greet you and escort you to your carefully selected hotel in the city. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the nearby area at your own pace, soaking in the charm of this historic city.
Arrival Tips:
Located in central northern China, Xi’an is a major transportation hub, easily accessible by air and high-speed rail. The Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, situated 40 km northwest of the city center, offers convenient flights to and from major cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Lhasa, Chengdu, Kunming, Wuhan, and Chongqing, as well as many international destinations.
Alternatively, travelers can take a high-speed train to Xi’an from various cities: Beijing (4-5 hours), Chengdu (4 hours), Shanghai (6-7 hours), Lanzhou (2.5-3.5 hours), Zhengzhou (2-3 hours), Chongqing (5-6 hours), etc.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you on an unforgettable journey to uncover one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world - the Terracotta Army Museum. Located about 40 km (about 1 hour’s drive) from the city, the museum showcases the incredible legacy of Emperor Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of China, who commissioned this vast underground army to protect him in the afterlife.
Start your visit at Pit 1, the largest and most awe-inspiring of the excavation pits, believed to contain over 6,000 life-sized terracotta soldiers and horses. As you stand before this silent yet commanding army, you’ll be amazed by the intricate details and lifelike expressions of the warriors, a testament to the extraordinary craftsmanship of ancient Chinese artisans.
Next, move on to Pit 2, where you’ll find around 1,300 warriors and horses arranged in fascinating military formations. Take a closer look at the kneeling and standing archers, chariot arrays, and troopers holding weapons, and marvel at the ingenuity of this ancient army’s organization and design.
After lunch, return to the city to visit the iconic Ancient City Wall, one of the oldest, largest, and best-preserved city walls in China. Built during the Ming Dynasty, this impressive fortification stretches over 13 km and offers a unique perspective on Xi’an’s history. Take a leisurely stroll or even ride a bike (self-pay) along the wall, exploring its gates, watchtowers, and moat while enjoying panoramic views of both modern Xi’an and its ancient heritage.
Next, visit the Bell Tower, a striking landmark from the Ming Dynasty with a history spanning over 600 years. These magnificent structures, beautifully illuminated in the evening, provide a stunning backdrop for photos that capture the harmonious blend of Xi’an’s ancient history and modern vibrancy.

This morning, you will visit one of Xi’an’s most iconic landmarks, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, a symbol of the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty. Located within the serene Da Ci’en Temple, this seven-story pagoda is a masterpiece of Tang-style architecture, characterized by its square base rather than a round one. Built in AD 652, it was originally constructed to house Buddhist sutras brought back from India by the renowned monk Xuan Zang. His legendary journey inspired one of the most famous works of Chinese literature, Journey to the West.
Afterward, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Muslim Quarter (Muslim Street). Located just behind the Drum Tower, about 430 meters west of the Bell Tower, this historic neighborhood has been a hub of culture and commerce for over 1,000 years. Wander the bustling streets lined with traditional shops, food stalls, and local vendors, and experience the unique blend of Chinese and Islamic cultures that define this lively district.
Now, it’s time to conclude your memorable 3-day group tour in Xi’an. Your group will be escorted to the airport or train station for your flight or high-speed train to next destination.
