Planning an Asia itinerary can be exciting, but totally overwhelming! Stop right there. It doesn't have to be a headache.
Welcome to Asia Odyssey Travel. We're here to help you design the best Asia travel plan for your style.
We begin with the first question: How much time do you have? We look at quick 2-week trips versus long to 2-month stays.
After that, we break Asia into 4 easy-to-handle regions—Southeast Asia, East Asia, Central Asia & South Asia—to help build your Asia travel plan. Think sunny Thai beaches to modern city lights in Tokyo.
Next, pick your style. Do you want the hit classics (like the Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia Triangle)? Or maybe some quiet hidden gems (like Bhutan, Sri Lanka or Kyrgyzstan)?
Plus, we'll show you how to link destinations like Kyoto and Shanghai into one epic trip.
Don't want to plan a single thing? No problem. We have over 100 ready-to-go itinerary options and fully packaged tours!
Just pack your bags! Pick the best Asia itinerary and start traveling!
Your time is the key thing. It decides your whole Asia trip itinerary!
Most people go for 2 to 4 weeks. But lots of backpackers stay 2 months or more.
With just two weeks in Asia, focus on 1 or 2 nearby countries and really get to know them. Chill on a beach and see the cool city stuff. Maybe chill on a Thai beach. Or take a quick, cool tour of modern Japan.
If you have three weeks, you can slow down a bit. Easily mix 2 different regions. For example, jump from the busy streets of Thailand to a rewarding trip in Japan.
Lucky enough to have two months or more? Asia is wide open! Skip the crowds. You can dive deep into the culture of Bhutan. You'll find secret spots like Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia. This is how you really see places like Shanxi, Guizhou or Xinjiang in massive China.
Now that you know how long you're staying, where should you go? Asia is too big to see all at once. It's way easier if you pick an "Asia Neighborhood."
You save travel time, and everything feels easy.
You could hit Southeast Asia, the classic backpacker spot known for white sand beaches, street food that costs almost nothing, and incredible old ruins. This includes destinations like Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia (Bali!) and the Philippines.
Or, dive into East Asia. This area is all about bullet trains, super cool mega-cities, and deep, old traditions—think Japan, South Korea and China.
Then there is South Asia. This region is known for its intense energy, bright colors, huge mountains, and complex, deep history in countries like India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Finally, the Central Asia areas offer Silk Road history, ancient cities and wide-open landscapes, perfect for travelers looking for off-the-beaten-path adventures in places like Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
If this is your first time in Asia, start here! They make choosing the best Asia itinerary easy.
These places are popular and easy to get around, all guaranteed to be fun. They have all the must-see sights.
Try the classic route: Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. It’s called "The Golden Triangle." You could also explore the vibrant multicultural mix of Malaysia, or the organized modernity of Singapore.
Or, mix it up: see high-tech China and Japan and the old beauty of South Korea. It’s a perfect mix of future and history.
Already been there, done that? This is your unique Asia travel plan. Focus on underrated spots people don't talk about much.
Consider diving into the deep history and stunning landscapes of Sri Lanka and India. Or, visit the mountain kingdom of Bhutan.
Find untouched coastline in the Philippines (e.g. the limestone cliffs of El Nido). You can also see Indonesia far past Bali. Try the car-free Gili Islands. Or the rugged Kuta coast of Lombok.
For a truly remote trip, look at Laos, and the huge landscapes of Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan.
Let's talk about the absolute must-see Asian destinations. Your trip to Asia needs these hits.
Start your trip with China. Shanghai is huge and modern. Xian has awesome history. Want amazing nature views? Check out Zhangjiajie. Or the beautiful spots in Yunnan, Guizhou, Xinjiang, or Tibet. They are all stunning.
Next, chill out in Japan. Hit Tokyo and Osaka for the big city vibes. Then see the history in Kyoto. It's a great mix.
Need sparkling blue water? The Philippines has it all. El Nido and Coron have the best limestone lagoons. You'll get super relaxing island vibes in Cebu and Bohol.
Linking a few countries is super rewarding! Here are our favorite, easy-to-plan combos of Asia itinerary.
A Southeast Asia circuit is the one everyone asks for! It links the buzzing mainland areas (like Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia) with the peaceful islands (like Bali and the Philippines).
For an East Asia contrast, jump between super high-tech cities like Tokyo and history found in South Korea.
Also, you can connect the lively chaos of India with the quiet, majestic mountains of the Himalayas during a soulful South Asia journey.
Want to go somewhere truly unique? The Stans combo in Central Asia lets you trace the ancient Silk Road through lands like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan.

For the other four countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan), many nationalities enjoy visa-free entry. If an Uzbekistan visa is required, we assist you in applying for a multiple-entry e-visa.
8. When is the best time to visit Central Asia? What is the weather like?+
The best time to visit Central Asia is spring (April–June) and autumn (September–early November). These seasons offer mild temperatures and excellent conditions for sightseeing and outdoor activities. Summer can be very hot in cities like Bukhara and Tashkent but is ideal for mountain areas in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Winter is cold and less suitable for multi-country travel.
You can select our stable departures from April to October for our 9 group itineraries.
