To visit Tibet, all foreign travelers must obtain a Tibet Travel Permit through a registered travel agency in Tibet. This permits are required to enter Tibet and visit certain areas within the region, including Lhasa and Mount Everest Base Camp. The permit application process can take one to two weeks. We are a local Tibet travel agency based in Lhasa and can help you obtain the necessary permits. Bookings should be made at least one week in advance, and two weeks in advance for Mount Kailash tours.
Tibet tours can be started from various cities in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xining, Guangzhou, and more. Additionally, visitors can also start their Tibet tours from Nepal, as it is a neighboring country with convenient transportation options to Tibet.
For most travelers, they would like to spend 8 to 15 days to travel within Tibet. For 8 days, it is highly recommended to visit Lhasa - Yamdrok Lake - Shigatse - Mount Everest - Lhasa for classic exploration.
