Rail Routes (Most Popular & Convenient)
- Tobu Railway (Asakusa Station → Tobu-Nikko Station)
Direct, frequent, and budget-friendly. The Limited Express SPACIA or Revaty Kegon gets you there in around 2 hours.
- JR Route (Tokyo/Ueno → Utsunomiya → Nikko)
Take a Shinkansen to Utsunomiya, then transfer to the JR Nikko Line. Total trip is about 1 hour 45 minutes. JR Pass holders-this route is for you!
By Car
About 2-2.5 hours drive via Tohoku Expressway, then Nikko-Utsunomiya Road. Great if you're planning to explore remote areas or waterfalls.
