2. What travel documents are needed for Nepal Bhutan tour?

For Nepal

Valid Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date from Nepal.

Visa:

Pre-apply Online: You can apply for a Nepali visa before your travel through the official Nepal Immigration website. This process allows you to skip the long queues at the airport.

Begin your journey at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu, which is Nepal's only international airport connecting it with major cities globally. Travelers might find it easier to secure flights to Kathmandu from their home country.

After visiting Nepal, fly to Paro, Bhutan. Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines operate flights between Kathmandu and Paro, providing the most efficient way to travel between the two countries. The flight time is approximately one hour and offers stunning views of the Himalayas.

4. Can I travel independently in Bhutan and Nepal?

In Nepal, independent travel is very much possible and common. Travelers can freely plan their trip, choose their accommodations, and move around the country without the need for a guide or a pre-arranged tour (except in restricted areas).

Bhutan, on the other hand, has a unique approach to tourism, aimed at preserving its culture and environment through its "High Value, Low Impact" tourism policy. All international tourists (except citizens of India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives) must travel on a pre-arranged package or guided tour arranged through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator or one of their international partners. This policy means that independent travel in Bhutan is not allowed for most international visitors.

5. What currencies are used in Nepal and Bhutan?

Nepal: The Nepalese Rupee (NPR) is the local currency. USD and other major currencies can be exchanged in cities.

Bhutan: The Ngultrum (BTN) is Bhutan's currency, which is pegged to the Indian Rupee (INR). INR is also widely accepted in Bhutan.
