Day 1  Arrival in Seoul

Welcome to Seoul, the capital of South Korea. It had been the capital of the Korea Kingdom since 1394 AD. After 1948, the North Korea chose Pyongyang as capital, and Seoul is the capital of South Korea.

On the way from Incheon Airport, your tour guide will give you a brief introduction to Seoul and South Korea. If you have some questions, please feel free to ask him or her.

Day 2  Seoul City Tour
Gyeongbok Palace
Initially built in 1395 AD, the Gyeongbok Palace was the royal palace of the Korea Kingdom. The roofs of most houses of in the palace are paved with black tiles. You will know how the royalty worked and held ceremonies in the palace.
National Folk Museum
The National Folk Museum houses over 20,000 pieces of ancient relics, which were made between 1392 and 1910. You will know the history of agriculture and various industries, and ceremonies from these precious relics.
Insadong
Insadong is a cultural street, where tourists can buy traditional Korean costumes, various handicrafts, and paintings. The Korean delicacy can also be found here.
Jogyesa Temple
The Jogyesa Temple is the center of Korean traditional religion. A 26-meter high locust tree makes the temple quiet and secluded.

Day 3  Gangneung Scenery Tour

You will take a train to Gangneung in the morning.

Ojukheon
Ojukheon features the surrounding deep-color bamboos. An ancient Confucianist master lived here to escape from the bustle and hustle of metropolitans.
Seongyojang
With a history of over 300 years, the Seongyojang is a well-preserved ancient luxury courtyard complex. Many Korean TV series used here as filming locating.
Gyeongpo Lake
The peaceful Gyeongpo Lake looks like a mirror connected to the sea. The reflection of sky, plants, and houses is very clear on the lake.

The rest of today is for self-exploration. The Coffee Cupper Museum and beach are recommended destinations.

Day 4  Seoraksan Mountain

Today, you will take a round-way bus trip to Sokcho.

Seoraksan Mountain
Standing 1708 meters above the sea level, the Seoraksan is a popular mountaineering destination in South Korea. The mountain is covered by snow for around 180 days every year. The plants, caves and waterfalls are the most attractive factor on the mountain.

After visiting the Seoraksan Mountain, you can taste various fish in a local fish market and see North Korean refugees’ daily life in Abai Village.

Day 5  Demilitarized Zone

Today, you will head back to Seoul to visit the south side of the Demilitarized Zone set up by the two Koreas.

Demilitarized Zone
The zone was set up by the two Koreas after their war ended in 1953. Dozens of conflicts broke out since then. The North tried to dig several tunnels to the South in 1970s, but these tunnels were all blocked by the South. You will see the most renowned third tunnel in the zone.

Day 6  Korean Folk Culture Tour

Today, you will take a bus to Andong Hahoe Folk Village.

Andong Hahoe Folk Village
The Andong Hahoe Folk Village is the best place to understand Korean Folk Culture. It was listed a world heritage site by UNESCO in 2010. You will visit several local houses here and spend one night in a Korean-style house tonight.
Mask Museum
It is said there are 11 masks which were made in the 11th century in the museum. Local villagers only wear these masks during festive ceremonies.

Day 7  Drive to Suncheon

You will take a 4-hour long car ride to Suncheon after visiting the Confucius temple in Hahoe Village. You can take a stroll around your hotel in Suncheon.

Day 8  Suncheon Biology Tour
Suncheonman Bay Wetlands
Over 200 kinds of birds are living in the Suncheonman Bay Wetlands, including the rare White-Headed Cranes. Tourists can learn about the local birds and plants in the exhibition hall in the wetland first, and them admire those rare birds.
Suncheon Bay National Garden
Tourists can have a bird view of the garden on a small hill in the garden. There is a international garden area in the National Garden, where tourists can admire gardens designed in 12 countries’ style.
Nagan Fortress village
It is a village built based on a fortress, which was used to fight against the pirates.

Day 9  Back to Seoul

You will take train back to Seoul. Today is for your own arrangement. Your guide will let you know the places for shopping. If you are interested in other activities, please feel free to ask your guide for advice.

Day 10   Seoul Departure
