Mutianyu Great Wall, Simatai Great Wall, Gubei Water Town
According to your prearranged schedule, your private guide will meet you in your hotel lobby. Today is indeed an extraordinary one, as it allows you to witness the breathtaking beauty of Mutianyu during daylight hours and immerse yourself in the enchanting ambiance of Simatai as night falls.
Firstly, you will head northwest of Beijing (about a 1.5-2 hours’ drive, 73km) to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Mutianyu Great Wall is one of the best-preserved and best-known sections of the Great Wall of China with fewer tourists and is also famed for its 23 Ming-era watchtowers and stunning views. Take the cable car up to the 14th watchtower and then hike the most beautiful and interesting part of Mutianyu. Marvel at its remarkable architecture, characterized by its well-preserved watchtowers and breathtaking vistas of rolling hills and lush forests. After the exciting time, descend Mutianyu Great Wall by cable car or toboggan or walking. (Note: A one-way cable car is included. Please tell your travel consultant how you would like to descend the wall.)
Suggested Route:
The hike from Watchtower No.14 to Watchtower No.20 is the most scenic part of Mutianyu Great Wall. You can take the cable car up to Watchtower No.14 and hike east. Then, you can either retrace your steps to Watch Tower No.14 and take the cable car down the wall, or continue hiking down to Watch Tower No.8, where you can walk down the wall. Alternatively, you can hike down to Watch Tower No.6 and take either the chairlift or toboggan down.
Then, make a 2-hour transfer to Simatai Great Wall. Your guide will accompany you on the cable car up to the Simatai Great Wall to see the sunset. As the sun begins to descend, your adventure takes an intriguing turn. The captivating allure of Simatai beckons you to explore its mystical ambiance under the night sky. As darkness blankets the landscape, the Great Wall undergoes a stunning transformation, adorned by the soft glow of lights. After the night tour, take a cable car down the wall and go to check in at your hotel at Gubei Water Town.
