We booked the Yangzi Explorer through Asia Odyssey Travel as part of our 14-day China trip, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing parts of the journey.
After busy days in Beijing and Xi’an, it was lovely to slow down on the river. Our cabin was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable. The balcony was perfect in the mornings, especially when we sailed through the gorges.
The service on board was excellent. Staff remembered our names and always helped with a smile. The food was better than we expected, with both Chinese and Western choices. We especially enjoyed the Three Gorges Dam visit and the smaller boat excursion.
Asia Odyssey Travel arranged everything smoothly, including transfers and tickets. We did not have to worry about anything. Yangzi Explorer is the must luxury option, but for older travelers who want comfort, it is worth it.
I highly recommend this 6-day Beijing and Shanghai group tour! It’s the perfect short trip to see China’s top highlights like the Great Wall and the Bund.

Yangtze Miracle was a great choice. The ship felt modern and fresh. Our cabins were clean, bright, and comfortable. The public areas were larger than I expected, and the kids liked walking around the decks and taking photos.

Yangzi Explorer is more expensive than many other Yangtze ships, but the quality is obvious. The cabin was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was excellent. The ship was quiet and never felt crowded.
The crew were professional and friendly. English service was good, which made the trip easier for me as a solo traveler. I also met other international guests during meals and excursions.
If you want a peaceful and higher-end Yangtze cruise, Yangzi Explorer is a very good choice.
