After breakfast, disembark to explore Luxor’s legendary West Bank, the ancient “City of the Dead.”

West Bank in Luxor:

Your first stop is the Valley of the Kings, the hidden burial place of Egypt’s New Kingdom pharaohs. Tucked beneath the limestone cliffs of Al-Qurn, this remarkable necropolis is home to elaborately decorated royal tombs. Visit three fascinating tombs and admire their colorful wall paintings, where vivid reds, yellows, and blues have survived for more than 3,000 years.

Tour Note: Premium tombs, including those of Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramesses VI, require separate entrance tickets. Your guide will be happy to assist if you wish to visit them.

Continue to the magnificent Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Luxor’s most photogenic landmarks. Built into dramatic limestone cliffs, its elegant terraces showcase the vision and power of Egypt’s most famous female pharaoh.

Expert Advice and Ideas for Your 10 Days Egypt Tour with Sharm El Sheikh

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I start from Sharm El Sheikh and end in Cairo? +

Yes, it is possible to start your 10-day Egypt tour from Sharm El Sheikh and end in Cairo. However, this routing is not the most commonly recommended option.

Most travelers prefer to finish in Sharm El Sheikh, as it creates a more natural travel flow: starting with cultural highlights such as Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and the Nile Cruise, and ending with a relaxing stay by the Red Sea.

Ending in Sharm El Sheikh allows you to unwind after an intensive historical journey, with time for beach relaxation, snorkeling, diving, and desert experiences before departure.

Q2: Why visit Sharm El Sheikh instead of Hurghada in a 10-day Egypt tour? +

Sharm El Sheikh is often preferred in premium Egypt itineraries because it offers a more diverse combination of marine and desert experiences.

  • More vibrant coral reefs and richer marine biodiversity
  • Direct access to Ras Mohammed National Park
  • Unique desert safari experiences in the Sinai region
  • Stronger combination of resort leisure and adventure activities

Hurghada is also a popular Red Sea destination, but Sharm El Sheikh is generally considered more scenic and experience-rich for snorkeling, diving, and mixed desert-coastal itineraries.

Q3: Is there a direct flight from Aswan to Sharm El Sheikh? +

During peak travel seasons, limited direct flights may operate between Aswan and Sharm El Sheikh depending on airline schedules.

However, availability is not guaranteed year-round. For this reason, most 10-day Egypt itineraries are designed with flexible routing options.

The most reliable connections are typically via Cairo, such as Aswan → Cairo → Sharm El Sheikh. Our operations team continuously monitors flight schedules to ensure smooth connections for travelers.

Q4: Why choose Ras Mohammed National Park instead of Tiran Island in this 10-day Egypt tour? +

Both Ras Mohammed National Park and Tiran Island are world-class snorkeling and diving destinations, but they offer different styles of experience.

Ras Mohammed National Park:

  • Egypt’s most famous marine reserve
  • Calm snorkeling conditions with rich coral gardens
  • Iconic dive sites such as Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef
  • Ideal for first-time snorkelers and general travelers

Tiran Island:

  • Deeper offshore reef systems with stronger currents
  • More suitable for experienced divers
  • Fewer crowds and more open-sea landscapes

In most 10-day Egypt itineraries, Ras Mohammed is preferred due to its accessibility and consistency for a wider range of travelers.

Q5: Is Day 8 in Sharm El Sheikh too rushed or too late in the itinerary? +

Not at all. Day 8 is intentionally designed as a relaxed recovery and optional adventure day after the Nile Cruise segment.

Most travelers appreciate this balance because the day is structured to avoid fatigue while still offering meaningful experiences.

Mornings are reserved for free resort relaxation, afternoons may include optional ATV desert safaris, and evenings often feature Bedouin-style dinners and stargazing in the Sinai desert.
