Day 1 Arrive at Zhangjiajie, Head to Wulingyuan | Airport or Train Station Transfers, Hotel Check-in

Welcome to Zhangjiajie, home to the real-life "Hallelujah Mountains" from Avatar! Upon arrival, local staff will meet you at the airport for a one-hour transfer to your hotel in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. After checking in, enjoy free time to relax or begin exploring this incredible destination at your own pace.

Visit Xibu Old Street (溪布街) to admire traditional Tujia architecture and handwoven brocade. This vibrant pedestrian area features local snacks, folk souvenirs, and creative workshops. In the evening, the street comes alive; enjoy Hunan specialties like "Frog Cake" while browsing unique Tujia handicrafts and clothing.

Arrival Ideas:

Reaching Zhangjiajie is convenient via Hehua Airport, with direct flights from major hubs like Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, and Guangzhou. Alternatively, high-speed trains offer efficient connections from Fenghuang (1 hour), Changsha (2-4 hours), and Guilin (7 hours).

Day 2 Zhangjiajie Tour | From Zhangjiajie National Forest Park to Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve; Bailong Elevator, Hallelujah Mountains, Tianzi Mountain

Start your morning at Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China’s first national park, renowned for its towering sandstone peaks and lush vegetation. Board a sightseeing bus to reach the record-breaking Bailong Elevator. Known as the "World's No. 1 Ladder," this Guinness World Record holder is the tallest and fastest outdoor elevator on Earth. In just 66 seconds, you will ascend 326 meters from the valley floor to the spectacular mountain pinnacles for an unforgettable aerial perspective.

Hike into the surreal Yuanjiajie, the real-life inspiration for Avatar’s Pandora. Capture the 150-meter-high South Sky Pillar and the iconic Floating Mountain. Traverse the 3,500-meter scenic cliff trail, adorned with red prayer ribbons, to reach spectacular viewpoints like the Lost Soul Platform and the First Bridge Under Heaven.

Next, board a sightseeing bus to Tianzi Mountain, the "King of Peaks." Named after a legendary Tujia leader, this majestic area served as a filming location for Journey to the West. From Dianjiangtai Platform, overlook the misty West Sea Peaks before admiring the Imperial Writing Brush Peaks. Conclude at He Long Park and the 30-meter Tianzige Pavilion, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire peak forest.

After the tour, return to Zhangjiajie City for overnight.

i Note
To avoid peak-season crowds, your guide may reverse the itinerary to ensure a more peaceful experience.
Day 3 Zhangjiajie Tour | Tianmenshan National Forest Park, Tianmenshan Cable Car, Tianmen Cave, Glass Walkway

Spend a half-day exploring Tianmen Mountain, the "Soul of Zhangjiajie" and Western Hunan's most sacred peak. Located just 8km from the city center, this scenic area is perfect for all ages, offering breathtaking alpine views and world-class attractions without the need for strenuous climbing.

Begin with a 30-minute cable car ascent, offering bird’s-eye views of the famous 99 Bends road. Test your courage on the 60-meter Glass Walkway, suspended 1,430 meters above the valley, and explore the 1.6-kilometer Cliff-Hanging Walkway. Afterward, visit the serene, Qing-style Tianmen Temple or climb to Yunmenxianding, the park's highest peak at 1,518 meters, for a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire region.

i Note
Walking on the glass skywalk requires a shoe cover fee of 5 yuan per person, and it is an optional expense.

Descend by escalator to Tianmen Cave, the world’s highest natural mountain hole. Often shrouded in mist or bathed in ethereal sunlight, "Heaven's Gate" (天门洞) offers a mesmerizing, ever-changing landscape perfect for photography. Afterward, choose to either challenge the 999 steps or take an elevator down to the cable car station.

After the tour, it is time to end your 3 Days Classic Zhangjiajie Tour with Avatar Mountain and Tianmen Mountain. Your guide will escort you to the airport/train station for your flight or high-speed train. Thank you for choosing Asia Odyssey Travel!
