Day 1 Hike from Jiankou to Mutianyu
Your guide will meet you at your hotel or an appointed place, and then you will drive to the Jiankou Great Wall.
It takes around 4 hours for today’s hike. Some parts of the Jinkou Great Wall has collapsed, however your tour guide will find the safest hiking route with the most amazing sceneries for you. After the hike, you will be transferred to the Gubeikou Great Wall for camping. Tents and other necessary items will be prepared by us.
The Jiankou Great Wall, also known as the Wild Great Wall, is the steepest section of the Great Wall in Beijing. The Jiankou Great Wall has not been developed, and retains its original historical features, the gravel and fallen bricks on the Jiankou Great Wall can be seen everywhere.
The Mutianyu Great Wall is suitable for visit all year round. In the spring, you can watch the flowers blooming, and it is a lush green in summer. Autumn is the most beautiful time due to the red maple leaves and golden ginkgo leaves. Winter’s snow view is also excellent.
Day 2 Hike from Gubeikou to Jinshanling
If the weather is good, you can see a wonderful sunrise in the morning.
Gubeikou Great Wall consists of the Great Wall sections built during the Northern Qi Dynasty（550-577 AD）and the Ming Dynasty（1368~1644 AD）. There was no renovation project for Gubeikou in last 100 years, so tourists can still feel the vicissitude of this Great Wall section.
The Jinshanling Great Wall was built in 1368 AD. There is no over-development here, and you can feel the ancient atmosphere of the Great Wall very well. Thousands of bricks on the Great Wall were carved with the date of manufacture.
It takes around 6 hours for today’s hike. You will be transferred back to Beijing after the hike.
