Get to Fujian Yongding Tulou
To travel by public transportation from Xiamen to Yongding Tulou, you should plan for about 3-4 hours.
Direct Bus: 4 daily buses from Xiamen Hubin South Long-Distance Bus Station (湖滨南长途汽车站) go directly to Yongding Tulou. The ticket price is 59 RMB.

Bus: There are no direct buses from Xiamen to Huian Tulou. You can choose to take a bus from Xiamen Wucun Bus Station to Hua’an County, and then transfer to a local bus or take a taxi to reach Hua’an Tulou.
Traveling Around Yongding Tulou & Nanjing Tulou
Nanjing, Yongding, and Huian Tulou are not far apart, especially Nanjing Tulou and Yongding Tulou, which are often visited together as classic destinations for Fujian Tulou. Nanjing Tulou is about 11 kilometers away from Yongding Tulou, and it takes around 0.5 hours to reach.
Yongding Tulou and Nanjing Tulou are ca. 80 kilometers away from Huian Tulou, and it takes about 2.5-3.5 hours to reach.
There is no direct public transportation between them. Only a few buses from Xiamen Hubin South Long-Distance Bus Station to Yongding Tulou will make a stop in Nanjing. If you are lucky, you can catch this bus and transfer from Nanjing to Yongding Tulou. However, the most recommended way to transfer between the Tulou is still by private car.
