Guizhou Tours from Malaysia FAQs - Plan Your Guizhou Tours from Malaysia Worry-Free

Expand All
  • icon
    1. Do Malaysian citizens need a visa to visit Guizhou, China?
    icon

Good news! Malaysian citizens holding ordinary passports can enjoy visa-free entry to China for up to 30 days for tourism purposes. This policy is currently effective until December 31, 2025. There is also an upcoming mutual visa exemption agreement that will allow for stays of up to 90 days, which is expected to be implemented soon. Please check the latest travel advisories before your trip.

  • icon
    2. Is Guizhou suitable for Muslim travelers from Malaysia? Are Halal food options available?
    icon

Yes, Guizhou can be a Muslim-friendly destination. While not as widespread as in some other parts of China, Halal food options are available, especially in Guiyang and other larger cities. You can find dedicated Halal restaurants, often run by the Hui ethnic group (Chinese Muslims).

  • icon
    3. What’s included in the Guizhou Tour from Malaysia package?
    icon

    Our tour packages typically include:

    • Private transport with licensed driver, high-speed trains, and airport transfers.
    • English or Chinese-speaking local guide
    • Selected Accommodation (3-star to 5-star standard or boutique hotels)
    • Daily breakfast, selected lunches
    • Entrance tickets to listed attractions
    • Bottled water and travel assistance throughout the trip
    • Travel Insurance (Optional): Basic coverage for emergencies.

Flights and visa (if needed) are usually not included but can be arranged upon request.

    4. What is Guizhou famous for?
    icon

Guizhou is characterized by its dramatic karst landscapes, featuring numerous limestone caves, sinkholes, underground rivers, and uniquely shaped mountains. Majestic examples include Huangguoshu Waterfall (the largest in Asia), mystical Fanjingshan Mountain, and the Libo Karst Scenic Area.

Guizhou is rich in ethnic minority cultures, especially the Miao and Dong people. You can experience their unique traditions (Twelve Cups of Block-Way Rice Wine, sickle haircutting rituals), colorful festivals (Sister's Meal Festival, Lusheng Festival), distinctive architecture (drum towers, wind and rain bridges), intricate handicrafts (batik, embroidery), and captivating music and dance (Dong Grand Song, Miao Dances).

It is also well-known for its cool climate, making it a popular summer escape.

  • icon
    5. What is the currency in Guizhou, and how can I handle money?
    icon

The local currency is the Chinese Yuan (CNY or RMB). While major cities like Guiyang might accept international credit cards in larger hotels and shops, it's highly recommended to use mobile payment apps like WeChat Pay or Alipay, which are ubiquitous in China. You can link your Singaporean bank cards to these apps, or top up a tourist e-wallet. It's also wise to carry some smaller denominations of cash for rural areas or small vendors.

    6. Any tips for a first-time visitor to Hohhot?
    icon
Learn Basic Phrases: A few Mongolian or Mandarin phrases can go a long way.
Stay Hydrated: The dry climate can be dehydrating, so drink plenty of water.
Bargain Wisely: At markets, bargaining is expected, but be polite.
Check the Weather: Weather can change quickly, especially on the grasslands, so check forecasts regularly.
I hope these answers help you plan a memorable trip to Hohhot! If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask.

  • icon
    7. What kind of accommodation is available in Guizhou?
    icon

Accommodation standards in Guizhou may not be as developed as those in major cities like Beijing or Shanghai. We recommend choosing 4-star standard hotels or above for better comfort and service.

Guiyang offers the widest selection of international and domestic hotel chains. Other major cities like Anshun, Libo, and Tongren offer decent hotel options, though international brands are limited.

In the Qiandongnan ethnic minority region (Kaili, Xijiang, Congjiang, Rongjiang, Zhaoxing, Zhenyuan), accommodations primarily consist of boutique guesthouses and some mid-range hotels. For Jiabang Terraces, mountain inns are available. Please note that hotels may not offe Western breakfast or English service, but our guides will assist with language at check-in/out.

A Journey Through Guizhou's Hidden Gems"

I recently returned from the 7-Day Colorful Guizhou Tour, and it was an incredible experience. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, offering a perfect blend of natural wonders and cultural immersion.

From the moment we arrived in Guiyang, everything was well-organized. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate, sharing insights about the local Miao and Dong cultures that enriched our visits to the villages. Participating in traditional dances and sampling local cuisine made the experience authentic and memorable.

The natural landscapes were breathtaking. Visiting the Huangguoshu Waterfall, one of the largest in Asia, was a highlight. The Xiaoqikong Scenic Area, with its lush forests and clear waters, felt like stepping into a fairy tale.

Accommodations were comfortable, and the transportation between sites was smooth. The tour struck a great balance between guided activities and free time to explore on our own.

If you're looking to explore a less-traveled part of China rich in culture and natural beauty, I highly recommend this tour. It was a journey that left me with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for Guizhou's unique charm.

Amazing cultural experience! I joined the 5-Day Guizhou Ethnic Tour.

"Amazing cultural experience! I joined the 5-Day Guizhou Ethnic Tour, and it was absolutely unforgettable. We explored the Miao and Dong villages, experiencing their rich traditions and incredibly warm hospitality. Our guide was fantastic—super knowledgeable and really passionate about sharing local culture. We even got to join in a traditional Miao dance and taste some amazing local food.

The highlight for me was staying overnight in Zhaoxing Dong Village. The drum towers lit up at night were magical, and waking up to mist-covered mountains felt like something out of a dream. The whole itinerary was well-organized, with just the right balance of activities and downtime.

If you're looking to truly experience Guizhou's ethnic culture and stunning landscapes, this tour is a must. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants more than just sightseeing.

An Unforgettable Adventure Through Nature's Masterpieces

I recently completed the 7-Day Zhangjiajie & Fanjingshan Tour, and it was an experience beyond words. From the moment we set foot in Zhangjiajie, the towering sandstone pillars of the National Forest Park took my breath away. Walking across the glass bridge suspended over the canyon was both thrilling and awe-inspiring.

Our guide was exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and always attentive to our needs. They provided fascinating insights into the local culture and history, making each site visit more meaningful.

The journey to Fanjingshan was equally remarkable. The hike to the summit was challenging but rewarding, offering panoramic views that made every step worthwhile. The unique rock formations and the tranquility of the surroundings provided a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Accommodations throughout the tour were comfortable, and the logistics were handled seamlessly. I appreciated the balance between guided activities and free time to explore on our own.

If you're seeking a blend of adventure, natural beauty, and cultural immersion, this tour is a must. It left me with memories that will last a lifetime.
