Location Map of Singapore Zoos: Location & Access of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve

 Location Map of Singapore Zoos
Location Map of Singapore Zoos

Your very first map challenge is simple: travel! The Location Map of Singapore Zoos shows you how to reach the Mandai complex, which sits up north in the North Region of Singapore.

How to get there? I recommend hopping on the Mandai Khatib Shuttle from the Khatib MRT Station (North-South Line, Red) for the fastest public transport route right to the door.

Of course, a taxi or ride-share is always an easy, direct option too!

Since you've successfully arrived, the next map shows you how to move once you're inside the Mandai compound.

Mandai Wildlife Reserve Map: Layout & Connection of the 4 Parks

 Mandai Wildlife Reserve Map
Mandai Wildlife Reserve Map

This Mandai Wildlife Reserve Map is your visual guide for smooth, easy transitions between the 4 parks.

The Tight Cluster: The Singapore Zoo, Singapore Night Safari and Singapore River Wonders are all clustered right next to each other. This is fantastic news! You can easily walk between these three, which simplifies a full-day/night itinerary.

Bird Paradise Connection: Singapore Bird Paradise is located slightly separate but is connected by shuttle bus. This is a 5-10 minutes' ride along the Mandai Lake Road. Board the shuttle near the main entrance of the Mandai Wildlife East plaza and be dropped off right at the Bird Paradise main entrance.

My Flow Advice: Singapore Zoo → River Wonders → Night Safari.

You've mastered getting here and connecting the parks. Now, let's grab the individual blueprints for the 4 different parks in Singapore!

The tram is your best tool for covering long distances and minimizing walking in the tropical heat. It operates on a Single-direction Loop Route.

1 Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia, Orangutan Island Start/End point, Access to Baboons and the popular Orangutan area.
2 Elephants of Asian, Australasia Access to large Asian exhibits and the walk-through kangaroo area.

4 KIDZWORLD, Fragile Forest A hop-off point for family activities and the immersive walk-in biodome.

Note: Last tram departs from Tram Station 1 at 5:30 PM!

Once your zoo day is winding down, you only need a short walk to your next adventure – the Singapore River Wonders.

The Singapore River Wonders Map showcases the park's linear path through all river habitats, clearly showing you where to catch the Amazon River Quest boat ride, and marking the venues for presentations and keeper talks.

  • Opening Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Last Entry: 6:00 PM

Animal Exhibits and Travel Route

The park is mapped as a continuous walking journey, moving logically from one geographic river habitat to the next.

Zone Key Animals & Focus
Congo River Zone African aquatic life, unique Cichlids and Tetras.
River Nile Zone Large Nile Crocodiles and diverse fish of the African river.
Ganges River Zones Focus on the unique Indian Gharial, soft-shell turtles, and river dolphins.

My Suggest Route: Congo River → River Nile → Ganges River → Mary River → Mekong River → Yangtze River → Amazon River Quest (Ticketed) → Amazonia Encounters → Amazon Flooded Forest.

Experiential Activities, Rides and Presentations

River Wonders offers several engaging activities that go beyond standard exhibit viewing, mainly centered around the Boat Plaza, though smaller educational talks are decentralized.

Once Upon A River Organized educational daily sessions with keeper interactions. Boat Plaza 11:30 AM, 2:30 PM, 4:30 PM

Singapore Night Safari Map: The Nocturnal Compass

Singapore Night Safari Map

As twilight falls, you can easily walk from River Wonders over to the incredible Night Safari.

The Singapore Night Zoo Map prepares you for one tram route and four walking trails to help you navigate the wildlife world in the dark.

  • Opening Hours: 5 PM - 12 Midnight Daily
  • Last Entry: 11:15 PM

The 7 Geographical Zones & Tram Route

The tram is your primary tool for covering the park's 3.5 km distance and seeing the larger, more sensitive animals that can't be viewed up close on the walking trails.

The narrated journey takes about 40 minutes and passes through 7 distinct geographical zones in a single, continuous loop.

Zone Name Geographical Focus Key Animals Seen from Tram
Himalayan Foothills High-altitude mountain terrain Markhor, Bharal (Blue Sheep)
Indian Subcontinent Open grasslands and moist forests Sloth Bear, Asiatic Lion, Striped Hyena
Equatorial Africa African savannah and bushland Giraffes, African Wild Dogs, Hippopotamus
Indo-Malayan Basin Southeast Asian swamps and rainforests Malayan Tapir, Asian Elephants, Siamang
Asian Riverine Forest River ecosystems and floodplains Fishing Cats, Binturongs, Spotted Leopard Cat
Nepalese River Valley Terraced landscape and low forest Sambar Deer, Greater One-horned Rhinoceros
Burmese Hillside Forested hillside habitat Gaur, Banteng

The Tram Route Strategy: Find the boarding area near the main entrance plaza and plan to take the full loop ride first. This provides an overview of the park's layout and habitats before you decide which walking trails to focus on.

The 4 Walking Trails (Close Encounters)

While the tram is for coverage, the 4 walking trails are for intimate discovery. They allow you to get up close to smaller, shyer species in realistic, dimly lit environments.

Don't skip these—they are the heart of the Night Safari experience! It's a continuous round loop that begins at either the Pangolin Trail or the Tasmanian Devil Trail.

Trail Name Estimated Time Key Animals and Focus
Pangolin Trail 35 minutes Features unique animals like the Pangolin and Binturong. Includes the immersive Explorer Outpost and leads to the Asian Riverine Forest.
Leopard Trail 45 minutes The park's classic trail for large cats (Leopard, Lion). Includes specialized viewing areas like the Flying Fox Walkthrough and Civet Walkthrough.
East Lodge Trail 45 minutes Focuses on Australasian nightlife. Highlights include the Tasmanian Devil and the immersive Naracoorte Cave exhibit.
Tasmanian Devil Trail 25 minutes Showcases large mammals from various continents: Spotted Hyena, Malayan Tapir, and the massive Eurasian Wolf.

My Suggested Route: Pangolin Trail ↔ Leopard Trail ↔ East Lodge Trail ↔ Tasmanian Devil Trail

The Night Show Locations and Timings
