Itinerary Day by Day

Day 1 Taipei and Taichung Tours

Today you will meet your guide in Taipei, and then take a car ride to Taichung, with a stop for sightseeing in Miaoli.

Ruins Longteng Bridge
Built in 1905, the Longteng Bridge was the highest bridge in the mountainous areas in Taiwan. In 1935, an earthquake destroyed the bridge. However, its 10 piers, which look like 10 towers, still stand nowadays. Here is a popular scene for photo in Taiwan.
Shengxing Railway Station
Opened in 1906 meters, the railway station is now a renowned tourist attraction. The station was built during the Japanese colonial period, so the unique wood buildings in the station were also built in Japanese style. It is also a good place to learn about the history of Japanese colonial history.
Leicha Tea Lesson in Miaoli
You will learn how to make the Leicha Tea, which consists of tea and nuts. Salt and oil are indispensable seasoners for the tea. If you do not want to make it by yourself, just drink the one your teachers made in advance.
Taichung’s Fengjia Night Market
Fried chicken, fruit juices, cakes, cookies, and ice cream, almost every kind of Taiwanese street food can be found in the Taiwan’s largest night market. If you do not want to eat too much, you can still talk to the shop owners to learn about night market culture.
Day 2 Lugang Ancient Town and Sun Moon Lake

You will drive to the Sun Moon Lake Today.

Temples of Lugang
There are around 60 temples in Lugang, a small town in Taiwan. These temples were built to pray for safety, good luck, or prosperous business. The most attractive factors for tourists are the exquisite carvings and halls in these temples.
Lugang Osmanthus Alley Artist Village
The houses in the village were built during the Japanese colonial period. Now they are rented by the artists, who are specialized in making handicrafts. The interesting graffiti on the walls of these houses are worth a see.
Sun Moon Lake
The north part of the lake looks like the sun, while the south part is formed in the shape of a crescent. You will take a boat sightseeing on the Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan’s most renowned place of interest.
Day 3 Alishan Mountain

You will drive to Alishan Mountain today.

Ruins of Wuchang Temple
The Wuchang Temple was built by the local merchants in 1903. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by a 7.3-magnitude earthquake in 1999. However, the statues of Taoist Gods survived the disaster.
Old Street of Fenqihu
The old street was a trade center in the Alishan Mountain area around 50 years ago. At that time, merchants could only take a train to Alishan Mountain, so many local vendors sold fast food at the train station near the street. Nowadays, the street has developed to a kingdom of traditional Taiwanese fast food.
Alishan Mountain
You will take a leisure hike on the Alishan Mountain, a summer resort for Taiwanese people. The cloud seas and other mountain views will help you totally relax. Besides, you can learn about the culture of Zou ethnic group on the mountain.
Day 4 Kaohsiung Tour

You will drive to Kaohsiung, the southmost city in Taiwan

Alishan Forest Railway
Stretching 72 kilometers, the railway on the Alishan Mountain is one of the longest mountain railways in the world. You will take a mountain train ride in morning, the best time to admire the scenery on the Alishan Mountain.
Love River
It is a mother river for people in Kaohsiung. Almost every festive celebration is held on this river. Many coffee bars are opened on the banks of the river. You can drink coffee, admire the river scenery, and listen to the sweet music in the one of these bars.
Liuhe Night Market
It is the second night market for this tour package. It is recommended to taste some local desserts on this market, such as “coffin board”, a toast box stuffed with various meats and fruits. It looks like a coffin, so local people call it coffin board.
Day 5 Taitung Tour

You will proceed to Taitung Today

Museum of Prehistory
The Museum was built based on the Beinan People Site, a tribe lived in Taitung around 3000 years ago. Hundreds of jades, artifacts, potteries, and coffins were unearthed between 1980 and 1982.
Cycle in the Forest Park
The forest park is also called “black forests” due to the dark trees. Cycling in the park and admire colorful trees and flowers can help you fully relax yourself.
Seashore Park
Both local people and tourists like the seashore in Taitung, where they can see very clear sea, pick up beautiful cobblestones, and take photos on the trestle bridges.
Day 6 Drive to Hualien

Today, you will drive through be beautiful East Rift Valleyto Hualien, with a few sightseeing stops.

Chishang Rice Village Museum
The museum was the rice warehouse in Taitung. With the development of agriculture, the warehouse was not large enough to store rice, so the local government used it as a museum, where houses lots of old agricultural tools.
Tropic of Cancer Marker
You can stand in Tropic and North Temperature Zone at the same at the marker, which was built in 1908.
Hualien Sugar Factory
Built by the Japanese colonial government in 1914, the Sugar Factory could produce 1200 tons of sugar every year. Now the ice cream produced by the factory is popular in Taiwan
Day 7 Hualien Tour
Qixingtan Beach
The beach was a swamp. Now it has been transformed to a cobblestones beach, where tourists can admire amazing bay sceneries.
Ching Xiu Temple
The temple was built by Japanese colonial government for workers from Japan homeland to lessen their homesickness. All the houses in temple were built in Japanese style. The 88 statues of Buddha are precious antiques in the temple
Carp Lake
It is the largest lake in Hualien. During a clear day, you can see the reflection of the Carp Hill on the lake. Check out if it is really like a carp.
Day 8 Drive Back to Taipei

Today, you will drive back to Taipei. On the road, you willsee the spectacular Qingshui Cliff and visit the Taroko National Park.

Taroko National Park
Featuring its canyon sceneries, dozens of waterfalls, and hundreds of caves, the park is worth your exploration. It is recommended to take a short hike to admire the sceneries and birds in the park.

Transportation
In a private tour, it means you will transfer to the tourist attractions in one city by private vehicle. The private car we selected is spacious, comfortable and air-conditioned. And the driver we use are very experienced. As for traveling between two destinations, we use domestic flights (economy seat) or high speed trains (second class seat, usually less than 6 hours). The local guides and drivers will pick you up at the airport/train stations, and escort you to the hotel.
Meals
“B” stands for breakfast. You will have it at your hotel in the morning.
“L” stands for lunch. The restaurants we will arrange for you are all designated tourist restaurants approved by local tourist administration bureau. All are in good sanitary conditions. Your guide will assist you with ordering the dishes.
“D” means dinner. All dinners are excluded in the itinerary. You have the chance to taste some authentic Chinese food and local snacks.

Memorable trip!!!
One of the best trips I ever had, I give five stars for the professionalism and good itinerary. I had a great informatory trip. The guide was very knowledgeable with all part of and the city. His historic background is rich and coming from the heart. Our driver was very careful and patient with traffic and both were very prompt. Food was ok and service was good. I highly recommend this travel agency, if you go to China make sure to use them.

First adventure in China
