Amish’s Family & Friends Discover China: Beijing Shanghai Zhangjiajie & Hong Kong

In early May 2025, I received an inquiry from Mr. Amish in India. He told me that he planned to travel to China in mid-June with his wife and another couple of friends.

Multiple Discussions: A Carefully Crafted Itinerary

From the very first conversation, I could sense Mr. Amish’s attention to detail and sincerity. He raised many ideas and concerns, and I always responded with patience and positivity. To balance their schedule and budget, I revised the itinerary five times in total. With each revision, I tried to make the trip more aligned with theirexpectations and needs.

Although our quotation was slightly higher than some other agencies, because of our thoughtful planning and attentive service, Mr. Amish and his friends ultimately chose us. The final itinerary was an 8-day journey through Beijing, Shanghai, Zhangjiajie, and Hong Kong.

Pre-Trip Support: Peace of Mind with Visas and Details

Before the trip began, I maintained close communication with Mr. Amish and actively provided the necessary documents to assist his Indian companions in applying for their visas. Although there were some unexpected issues during the process, I handled them calmly and efficiently, quickly offering solutions. In the end, their visas were successfully issued.

The Journey Begins: A Thoughtful First Step

When they arrived at Beijing Capital Airport, they were carrying so much luggage that it exceeded the capacity of the original vehicle. To avoid any inconvenience on their very first day, I upgraded their vehicle free of charge, ensuring all luggage could be accommodated. Mr. Amish thanked me on the spot, saying this was their first “heartwarming detail” of the trip.

Beijing & Shanghai: Where History Meets Modernity

In Beijing, they visited the Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City, and climbed the Mutianyu Great Wall, capturing countless memorable photos along the way. At night, they admired the illuminated Bird’s Nest and Water Cube and exclaimed: “This is exactly what we’ve seen on TV about China!”

A few days later, they flew to Shanghai. There, they explored the classical beauty of Yuyuan Garden and City God Temple, then experienced the vibrant energy of Nanjing Road and the Bund. They remarked: “The contrast here is incredible—so much tradition, yet so much of the future.”

Zhangjiajie: A Natural Wonder

When the trip reached Zhangjiajie, another small challenge tested my responsiveness. On the way to the hotel, Mr. Amish suddenly requested extra luggage assistance (red cap service) and asked if the guide could help purchase some daily necessities. I quickly coordinated everything, making sure their needs were met without delay.

In Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, they took the Bailong Elevator up the cliffs and marveled at Hallelujah Mountain, the filming inspiration for Avatar. On the Tianmen Mountain glass skywalk, their excited exclamations echoed like children’s: “This is unbelievable!”

Hong Kong: A Perfect Finale

In Hong Kong, the last stop of their trip, they took the Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour, enjoyed panoramic views from Victoria Peak, and experienced a sampan ride in Aberdeen Fishing Village. Finally, at Repulse Bay, Mrs. Amish said with emotion: “From start to finish, every single day of this journey exceeded our expectations.”

Reflections After the Trip

After the journey concluded, Mr. Amish left me this message:

“I would like to end by also mentioning the small gestures, accommodating last minute requests (often complimentary) was so appreciable. Our next trip anywhere in Asia is certainly going to be with Asia Odyssey.”

My Thoughts

As a travel consultant, I firmly believe that a perfect journey is not just about the list of attractions, but about the careful protection of details and the companionship offered in moments of the unexpected.

For Mr. Amish and his group, this trip not only showcased China’s magnificent landscapes and modern vibrancy, but also demonstrated our genuine service and professionalism.

And for me, their trust and gratitude remain one of the most precious rewards of my career.
