Welcome to Taizhou in Zhengjiang Province, China! Upon your arrival in Linhai County of Taizhou, your driver/guide will provide a seamless transfer to your hotel in Linhai for check-in.

After a short relaxing, your exploration begins at the East Lake (Donghu), a classic Jiangnan garden originally excavated in the Northern Song Dynasty. This serene park offers a gentle introduction to the region's aesthetics, where the delicate interplay of weeping willows, stone bridges, and pavilions provides a peaceful prelude to the grander architecture to follow.

From the lakeside, you will ascend the Taizhou City Wall, also known as the Southern Great Wall. This isn't just a defensive structure, also the architectural ancestor and blueprint for the Ming Dynasty Great Wall in Beijing. Walking along the rugged grey-brick ramparts, you will enjoy a commanding bird's-eye view of the East Lake and the winding Linhai skyline.

The highlight of this walk is the descent toward the Zhaotian Gate, where you will find the perfect vantage point to capture the Thousand-Buddha Pagoda of Longxing Temple. This iconic shot—framing the Tang-style brick pagoda against the backdrop of the ancient battlements—perfectly encapsulates the spiritual and military history of the city.

If you like, you can also have an up-close visit of Longxing Temple. At the foot of the ancient wall, Longxing Temple stands as a monumental landmark of cultural exchange, once serving as a vital training ground for the Japanese monk Saichō before he founded the Tendai school of Buddhism in Japan.

Adjacent to the Buddhist sanctuary, the City God Temple (Chenhuangmiao) offers a fascinating glimpse into local folk beliefs and traditional wood-carving artistry.

As evening approaches, the journey transitions from the heights of the wall to the vibrant pulse of Ziyang Street. Traditional apothecaries, teahouses, and umbrella workshops sit side-by-side with the ancestral homes of local residents. As the street lanterns flicker on, the air fills with the aroma of freshly baked Seaweed Cakes and the sizzle of local street delicacies.

Your first Taizhou day concludes with an optional dinner featuring Taizhou’s celebrated Xian (umami) cuisine, followed by an overnight stay in a hotel tucked away in the heart of the ancient district, allowing you to experience the quietude of the old city long after the day-trippers have departed.

This morning after breakfast, you will be driven to Tiantai Mountain (50km, 1.5h) to capture the Highest Waterfall in China – Tiantai Mountain Waterfall.

To optimize comfort and views, we utilize a smart logistical route: from the Tourist Center, a shuttle whisks you up to the lower entrance of Qiongtai Valley. After a brief, scenic hike, you will ascend to the mountain’s summit via a cliffside elevator. From here, you will cross the Huixian Bridge, a dramatic glass-bottomed walkway suspended between peaks, before a pleasant 2-kilometer stroll leads you to the very crest of the waterfall.

The descent is a visual feast, as you follow the winding paths downward, keeping the thunderous white spray and deep mountain pools in constant view.

Note: As Tiantai Mountain does not utilize cable cars, this section requires moderate physical stamina. Comfortable, high-grip walking shoes are essential.

After the One Day Tiantai Mountain Tour, you will be driven back to Linhai to stay overnight.

Optional Shifeng Lake Night Cruise (1h):

As your boat glides gracefully across the the lake, a series of dazzling performances unfolds before your eyes, transforming the water into a grand, liquid stage. The undisputed highlight of the evening is the Lotus Monk performance, a mesmerizing tribute to Jigong (Master Daoji)—the legendary Mad Monk who was born right here in Tiantai.

Adorned in traditional monastic robes, the performer dances with ethereal agility upon a shimmering golden lotus platform anchored in the center of the lake. You will also be served local Tiantai Cloud & Mist Tea (Yunwu Tea) along with delicate regional snacks

On your final day, we ascend into a realm that feels detached from the mortal world: Shenxianju Scenic Area, literally translated as the Dwelling of the Immortals. It is a geological masterpiece of volcanic rhyolite landforms. Captivating photos taken from the lotus-shaped viewing platform have swept across Instagram, transforming this site into a global visual feast.

To ensure a comfortable and awe-inspiring experience, we utilize a sophisticated South Up & North Down route that prioritizes breathtaking views while minimizing physical exertion.

Your journey begins at the South Gate, where the Nantian Cable Car whisks you up to the upper region. Just a short walk from the station lies the world-famous Lotus Platform (Foying Lianyun). This exquisite, lotus-shaped viewing deck extends gracefully over the abyss, offering a solid yet exhilarating vantage point.

The true allure lies in its perfect composition: as you stand upon the petals, the jagged, vertical peaks in the distance rise like petrified giants, providing a dramatic, layered backdrop.

Leaving the Lotus Platform, you will enjoy a serene mountaintop stroll along cliffside planks that hug the rugged stone walls. As you walk, the scenery shifts with every turn—expect to see ancient pines clinging to the rock face, hidden grottoes, and the iconic Guanyin Peak.

The journey continues as you cross a series of spectacular bridges suspended over the chasms. You will traverse the grand Hongmeng Bridge, the sinuous Wolong Bridge, and the hopeful Yuanmeng Bridge, before reaching the climax: the world-renowned Ruyi Bridge. This double-deck structure undulates like a traditional jade scepter across a deep gorge, providing a thrilling, panoramic view of the jagged peaks that look like ancient guardians.

Then, descending via the Beihai Cable Car and enjoying your moment of quiet reflection at Ruyi Lake near the base.
