Hotpot that similar to fondue is a kind of dish to dip the meat and vegetables into the woks of spicy soup. And cheap snacks are dizzyingly available in Chengdu like the noodles, dumplings and barbecue and so on.

Yangxi Route and Zijin district are recommended for you to try the Sichuan dishes. Kuixinglou Street, Chunxi Road, Kuanzai Alley, Yulin Food Street as well as the Jinli Street are the snacks' gathering places for your unforgettable snack banquet.

2. What is Chengdu local specialties or souvenirs?

Chengdu's Sichuan Brocade and Sichuan Embroidery are respectively famous in China. For example: thinly sliced steamed pork, sweet and sour pork ribs, etc. In fact, hot pot is also divided into the red-and-white-hot-pot. White pot is a non-spicy soup pot that can cook all kinds of meat, mushrooms and vegetables. Many hot pot restaurants will provide man pot according to your needs, half spicy and half non-spicy. Most snacks in Chengdu are not spicy, too, so even if you can’t eat spicy food, you can enjoy Chengdu's cuisine

4. Is Chengdu and Sichuan open to international tourists now?

5. How long to spend at Chengdu Panda Base?

On average, most visitors spend around 2 to 3 hours at the Chengdu panda base. This allows enough time to see the pandas, watch them eat and play, visit the enclosures, and take pictures. Please remember that pandas only play in morning. If you go to the base in the afternoon, you can only see them sleeping.

If you are a big panda fan, it is recommended to attend Panda Volunteer Program. It takes a full day. You will get up close to China's most iconic animal. You will clean captive pandas' bedrooms, prepare fresh bamboo for the fluffy pandas, make panda cakes in different shapes for the vegetarian pandas, watch the panda caretaker feed a panda at a very close distance, meet oversea returnee pandas with your expert panda guide, listen to the stories behind the rescued wild pandas, say hi to companion animals of pandas, and receive a unique Panda Volunteer Certificate.

What a 30-Day China Adventure — Exceeded My Expectation

I recently completed the “30 Days China Tour from Beijing” with Asia Odyssey Travel, and as someone from Singapore, I found it to be an exceptional experience.

Starting in Beijing, everything kicked off seamlessly — airport pick-up worked well, and our guide made us feel comfortable right away. Over the month we moved through a very broad selection of China’s landscapes, cities, history and culture. From the imposing Great Wall of China and Forbidden City in Beijing to ancient capitals, ethnic minority regions, high-speed train rides, rural scenery and modern metropolises.

Some of the highlights for me:

Visiting the Great Wall early in the morning when it was quiet and feeling the scale of it in person.
Seeing ancient city walls, historic towns and temples that really brought Chinese history to life.
Travelling by high-speed train across regions — the logistics were smooth and we always arrived on time.

An Incredible 21-Day China Experience - Eye-Opening & Seamless

I recently completed the “21-Day China Tour from Shanghai” with Asia Odyssey Travel, and as a traveler from the U.S., I found the journey both impressive and very well managed.

Starting in Shanghai, our arrival went smoothly — airport pick-up, a comfortable downtown hotel, and a friendly local guide who helped us get oriented right away. Amazing 30-Day Journey Across China — Well Organized and Truly Worth It

I just came back from the 30-Day China Panorama Tour from Guangzhou with Asia Odyssey Travel, and it was truly one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever joined.

From the moment I landed in Guangzhou, everything was well-coordinated. The local guide greeted us at the airport and made us feel welcome right away. We started with classic Cantonese highlights like the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Lychee Bay, and traditional dim sum — a great introduction to southern China’s culture.

The route that followed was impressive. We cruised along the Li River in Guilin, cycled through Yangshuo’s peaceful countryside, and admired the Longji Rice Terraces. In Yunnan, Dali and Lijiang’s old towns were full of character, with snow-capped mountains in the distance. Chengdu was all about pandas and Sichuan food, Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong looked like scenes from a painting, and Chongqing’s mountain city views were unforgettable. The trip ended with Beijing’s Great Wall and Forbidden City, and Shanghai’s skyline — the perfect contrast of history and modern life.

Everything ran smoothly throughout. The guides were professional and friendly, the hotels were clean and comfortable, and transportation was efficient. My personal highlights were sharing bamboo rice with local villagers in Longji, standing by the turquoise lakes of Jiuzhaigou, and watching the city lights in Chongqing after dinner.
