Visiting Chengdu in Spring (March-May): Flowers & Pandas

Summers in Chengdu are long and hot, lasting from mid-May to mid-September. This season is characterized by high humidity and temperatures averaging around 30°C. To escape the summer heat, you can visit Qingcheng Mountain, where the temperature is pleasantly cooler, around 5-10°C lower. At Qingcheng Mountain, you can learn about the origins of Taoism and practice ancient Tai Chi exercises in the refreshing mountain environment.

Other excellent summer retreats include Dujiangyan and Mount Emei. Alternatively, you can seek refuge indoors by visiting tea houses and playing mahjong at People's Park. Exploring themed museums such as the Jinsha Site Museum, Chengdu Museum, and Sanxingdui Museum in air-conditioned comfort is also a great way to delve into the city's rich history and culture.

December through February is low tourism season of Chengdu.
