Route 1 provides faster and more frequent service, facilitating travel from Guangzhou South to Hong Kong in approximately one hour. With around 30 trains running on this route daily, it serves as the primary rail connection between Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Unlike the alternative route, this line also provides direct access to Futian Station, located in the heart of Shenzhen.

All trains from Guangzhou East to Hong Kong originate from Guangzhou East Station. However, not all trains from Guangzhou South to Hong Kong start from Guangzhou South Station. They may also originate from other mainland Chinese cities such as Beijing, Chengdu, Kunming, and Wuhan, passing through Guangzhou South Station, with their final destination being West Kowloon in Hong Kong.

1. The Vibrant Express (动感号动车组),also referred to as the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL), exclusively serves the route between Guangzhou South and West Kowloon in Hong Kong. Given the brief travel time on this high-speed rail, usually between 50 minutes to an hour, amenities such as a dining car, business class seating, and deluxe class seating are not available on the train. G6581, G6583, G6585, and G6587 are Vibrant Express.

2. The Intelligent Bullet high-speed train (智能复兴号动车组) offers an enhanced passenger experience with a range of upgrades including automated vending machines in the dining car, accessible carriages for passengers with disabilities, high-speed 5G Wi-Fi, and a dedicated quiet carriage for a peaceful journey. G79 and G6501 are Intelligent Fuxing Bullet High-Speed trains.

Arrival Station in Hong Kong - West Kowloon Railway Station

The final destination for all high-speed trains from Guangzhou to Hong Kong is West Kowloon Station. This station is situated in Jordan, Yau Tsim Mong District, Hong Kong. It is connected to other parts of the city through Austin Station and Kowloon Station. You can get to Hong Kong airport from this station by the Airport Express in 30 minutes.
