Location Map: How to Get to Jinshanling Great Wall from Beijing
Jinshanling Great Wall stands 120 km northeast of Beijing. It cannot be reached by subway or train; it is accessible only by road with a travel. The journey from central Beijing takes approximately 2.5 hours.
On the map, you'll see the route from central Beijing to Jinshanling, along with the main transportation options.
Private Car / Guided Tour (Most Convenient)
The easiest and most flexible way—door-to-door service with no transfers. Beijing to Jinshanling day-trip is highly recommended with a round-trip 4–5 hours' drive and 2–3 hours' hike.
Tourist Shuttle Bus (Direct & Easy)
Seasonal direct buses (mainly Apr–Nov) run between Beijing Dongzhimen Bus Station and Jinshanling, making it one of the simplest options for independent travelers. However, service is limited, with only 1–3 buses per day.
This is partly why Jinshanling remains quiet and less crowded: public transport is not very convenient, and direct buses are rare. Driving is also more popular among local visitors.
