    1. How do I get to Jiuzhaigou from Chengdu?
    icon

The best way in 2026 is by High-Speed Train. The journey from Chengdu East or Tianfu Airport Station to Huanglong-Jiuzhai Station takes only 1.5 to 2 hours. From the station, it is a 1.5-hour drive to the park entrance. Flights are still available (about 1 hour), but the train is more reliable and eco-friendly.

  • icon
    2. Do I need to book tickets in advance?
    icon

Yes, absolutely. Jiuzhaigou has a daily limit of 41,000 visitors and uses a strict real-name registration system. Tickets often sell out weeks in advance for the peak season (October). International travelers must provide passport details for booking. As a local agency, we can handle the entire reservation process for you.

  • icon
    3. When is the best time to visit Jiuzhaigou?
    icon

Peak Season (Autumn): October 15 - November 10 is the "Golden Window" for colorful forests.

Summer (June - August): Best for waterfalls and lush greenery.

Winter (December - February): Perfect for "Blue Ice" frozen waterfalls and lower prices.

  • icon
    4. What is the autumn season in Jiuzhaigou?
    icon

The autumn season in Jiuzhaigou typically occurs from September to November. During this time, the weather is comfortable, and the park is in its most colorful state, with vibrant foliage and stunning scenery. It's considered the best time to visit Jiuzhaigou.

  • icon
    5. How many days do you need in Jiuzhaigou?
    icon

A 3-day trip from Chengdu is perfect.
Day 1: Train to the station, visit Huanglong in the afternoon.
Day 2: Full day inside Jiuzhaigou Valley.
Day 3: Return to Chengdu by train or explore a local Tibetan village before leaving.

    6. Give useful travel tips when traveling in Jiuzhaigou Valley and Huanglong Park.
    icon

    1) Visit Huanglong National Park: Don't miss Huanglong National Park, which is located near Jiuzhaigou and is known for its stunning yellow limestone pools.

    2) Use the shuttle bus: The park is quite large, so it's recommended to take the shuttle bus to get around. You can buy a one-day or two-day bus pass at the entrance of the park.

    3) Dress appropriately: The weather in Jiuzhaigou can be unpredictable, so make sure to pack warm clothes and comfortable shoes. Bring a raincoat or umbrella in case of rain.

    4) Bring snacks and water: There are limited food options within the park, so it's a good idea to bring snacks and water with you.

    5) Avoid peak season: If possible, try to avoid traveling during the peak season (July to August and Chinese holidays) as the park can be very crowded.

    6) Be prepared for altitude sickness: Jiuzhaigou is located at a high altitude, so make sure to take it easy for the first few days to acclimate to the altitude and avoid altitude sickness.

  • icon
    7. Will I get altitude sickness in Jiuzhaigou or Huanglong?
    icon

Jiuzhaigou: The altitude is between 2,000m and 3,100m. Because of the dense forest and high oxygen levels, most people feel fine.

Huanglong: The altitude reaches nearly 3,600m at the top. We recommend taking the cable car up and walking down slowly. If you are worried, visit Jiuzhaigou first to acclimatize before heading to Huanglong.

  • icon
    8. Are there good hotels near the park?
    icon

Yes, the area around the park entrance (Zhangzha Town) and the nearby Luneng Resort area offer world-class hotels, including the Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Hilton, and InterContinental. Most of these hotels have staff who speak English and offer Western-style breakfasts.

  • icon
    9. Can I stay inside the Jiuzhaigou park overnight?
    icon

No. Overnight stays inside the park are strictly prohibited to protect the environment. All visitors must leave the park by the evening. Most travelers stay in hotels just outside the park gate (usually 10–15 minute walk or drive).

Our family of seven from Singapore joined the 3 Days Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou High Speed Train Tour, and it was truly one of the best short trips we’ve ever taken together. The bullet train ride was fast, comfortable, and very convenient for a big group like ours. Jiuzhaigou’s colorful lakes and waterfalls were even more beautiful than we imagined. Walking along the scenic paths felt peaceful and refreshing, and everyone found something to love. Our guide was patient and caring, always making sure our family was comfortable. This tour gave us unforgettable memories and was the perfect mix of nature, comfort, and family time.

A Journey That Changed the Way I See the World

This 10 Days Chengdu & Lhasa to Kathmandu Overland Tour via Qinghai-Tibet Railway was one of the most meaningful trips of my life. Traveling across such vast landscapes—from the green valleys of Sichuan to the high plateau of Tibet and finally into the Himalayas—felt like crossing into another world. The Qinghai-Tibet Railway itself was an unforgettable experience, offering breathtaking views and a smooth, comfortable ride into Lhasa.

Every detail of the journey was thoughtfully arranged, from permits to border crossings, which could have been very complicated without a professional team. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, especially in helping us adjust to the altitude. Standing in front of the Potala Palace, visiting ancient monasteries, and finally reaching Kathmandu felt like completing a once-in-a-lifetime journey. I am deeply grateful for the care and professionalism of the team. This tour is truly for travelers seeking adventure, culture, and a deeper connection to the world.

The Best Way to Spend a 10-Hour Layover in Chengdu

This winter, I had a 10-hour layover in Chengdu and decided to join this Chengdu Layover Tour: Efficient Panda & City Tours Between Flights. It was the best decision I could have made. Instead of waiting at the airport, I got to see the adorable giant pandas up close, which was a lifelong dream. Even in the cold weather, watching them play and eat bamboo was incredibly heartwarming.

The schedule was perfectly planned for a short stop, and everything ran smoothly from airport pickup to drop-off. To top it off, I enjoyed a steaming hot Chengdu hotpot before heading back to the airport—exactly what I needed on a winter day. The guide was friendly, professional, and very mindful of my flight time. This tour turned a boring layover into a memorable mini adventure. Highly recommended for anyone passing through Chengdu!
