Day 1 Taipei Half Day Tour | Pick-up & See-off Service, Palace Museum, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Taipei 101 (Exterior View)

Upon arrival, your driver and guide will meet you at the airport.Lonely Planet ranked Taipei as the world’s second-best travel city in 2022.

Begin at the Palace Museum (故宫博物院), a world-class institution housing nearly 700,000 artifacts spanning 8,000 years of Chinese art. Housed in a traditional palace-style building, the main galleries feature three legendary treasures: the realistic Meat-Shaped Stone, the intricate Jadeite Cabbage, and the ancient Mao Gong Ding bronze vessel.

Then, visit the iconic Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (中正纪念堂), a landmark dedicated to the ROC’s first president. The first floor exhibits historic artifacts, including Japan’s WWII surrender document. Afterward, head to the outer plaza to photograph the impressive Changing of the Guard ceremony, which occurs every hour on the hour.

Later, visit the foot of Taipei 101, the city’s most famous tower. At 508 meters, it was once the tallest building on Earth. Take a moment to look up at its "bamboo" shape—a design chosen to bring good luck and represent the idea of always growing taller and stronger.

After that, we will escort you back to airport. It is time to end your Taipei Layover Tour. Thank you for choosing Asia Odyssey Travel!
