China Snow Town Location Map: Where is China Snow Town

China Snow Town Location Map
China Snow Town Location Map

As you can see on this China Snow Town location map, China Snow Town (its official name is Shuangfeng Forest Farm) hides in the mountains of Heilongjiang Province.

It sits in the northeast corner of China, close to Russia. You'll see it tucked between Harbin and Mudanjiang cities. The town sits about 280 kilometers southeast of Harbin, the Ice City.

Look at the map and you'll notice Snow Town nestles in the Changbai Mountain range, right where three mountain ridges meet. This unique position creates a snow trap that catches moisture from the Sea of Japan.

The village itself is tiny. Just 100 families live here permanently. The main street runs only 500 meters long. But don't let the small size fool you. This compact area packs incredible beauty into every corner.

The surrounding forest covers thousands of square kilometers. Wildlife includes Siberian tigers, though you won't see them near the village.

Here is a clear map of the attractions in China Snow Town. As you can see, the village is built around one main street, so it’s almost impossible to get lost. Let's start with a simple overview of the layout.

The northern part of the village is where you'll find newer hotels. Yangcao Mountain is also to the north. Most visitors start exploring from the central area and then walk south.

The center is marked by the big Snow Town Stone Monument and the visitor center. From here, the main road, Xueyun Street, runs north to south.

  • To the west of Xueyun Street (your left), you’ll find the Dream Home park, the Photography Square, and the Bangchui Mountain Viewing Platform, which has a beautiful panoramic view of the village.
  • To the east of Xueyun Street (your right), there is a long street full of souvenir shops. Further to the east of the village, you'll find two ski resorts: the Dabao Ski Resort and the Xuexiang Ski Resort.

Here are the key attractions highlighted on your map:

Xueyun Street – 500-meter Main Street of the Village

Start at Xueyun Street, this is the main street and the heart of the village. It’s a 500-meter-long road lined with charming wooden houses, small shops, and restaurants, all buried in snow.

This is where you’ll spend most of your time, especially at night when the red lanterns light up and the whole street glows.

You can also try a horse-drawn sleigh ride. It’s a wonderfully relaxing way to travel down the main road, Xueyun Avenue.

Dream Home (Meng Huan Jia Yuan) - The Most Famous Photo Spot

In the evening, Dream Home puts on a beautiful light show. Colorful lights project onto the iconic "snow mushrooms," making the pure white snow glow in a rainbow of colors.

You can also see a traditional Northeast Errenzhuan performance, a lively show of local comedy and song. The performance is indoors.

Bangchui Shan Wooden Boardwalk: The Free Wooden Boardwalk

The map shows this mountain rising up behind the village. For a fantastic view without paying for Dream Home, find the free wooden boardwalk on your map. A wooden walkway climbs 400 meters up the hillside.

It’s a raised path that winds behind some of the houses, giving you an elevated view over the village rooftops. It’s perfect for taking photos.

Yangcao Mountain – Best Spots to Enjoy Sunreise

The map shows Yangcao Mountain on the village's northwestern edge. It’s the number one spot to go for watching the sunrise, as the first light hits the smoking chimneys and snow-covered roofs below.

For those looking for a thrill, you can race a snowmobile through the vast, snowy forests. Or, you can grab a snow tube and slide down the slopes for some simple, classic fun.

Ski Area – East of the Village

On the eastern side of the village, you'll find two ski resorts: the Dabao Ski Resort and the Xuexiang Ski Resort.

The Xuexiang Ski Resort has slopes that are perfect for beginners. If it's your first time on skis, this is a great place to practice.

If you want the most convenient and immersive experience, stay at a hotel on the main road, Xueyun Street. If you dream of waking up to perfect snowy views from your window, look for a hotel near the beautiful Dream Home park.
