As you can see on this China Snow Town location map, China Snow Town (its official name is Shuangfeng Forest Farm) hides in the mountains of Heilongjiang Province.
It sits in the northeast corner of China, close to Russia. You'll see it tucked between Harbin and Mudanjiang cities. The town sits about 280 kilometers southeast of Harbin, the Ice City.
Look at the map and you'll notice Snow Town nestles in the Changbai Mountain range, right where three mountain ridges meet. This unique position creates a snow trap that catches moisture from the Sea of Japan.
The village itself is tiny. Just 100 families live here permanently. The main street runs only 500 meters long. But don't let the small size fool you. This compact area packs incredible beauty into every corner.
The surrounding forest covers thousands of square kilometers. Wildlife includes Siberian tigers, though you won't see them near the village.

Here is a clear map of the attractions in China Snow Town. As you can see, the village is built around one main street, so it’s almost impossible to get lost. Let's start with a simple overview of the layout.
The northern part of the village is where you'll find newer hotels. Yangcao Mountain is also to the north. Most visitors start exploring from the central area and then walk south.
The center is marked by the big Snow Town Stone Monument and the visitor center. From here, the main road, Xueyun Street, runs north to south.
- To the west of Xueyun Street (your left), you’ll find the Dream Home park, the Photography Square, and the Bangchui Mountain Viewing Platform, which has a beautiful panoramic view of the village.
- To the east of Xueyun Street (your right), there is a long street full of souvenir shops. Further to the east of the village, you'll find two ski resorts: the Dabao Ski Resort and the Xuexiang Ski Resort.

Xueyun Street – 500-meter Main Street of the Village


Start at Xueyun Street, this is the main street and the heart of the village. It’s a 500-meter-long road lined with charming wooden houses, small shops, and restaurants, all buried in snow.
This is where you’ll spend most of your time, especially at night when the red lanterns light up and the whole street glows.
You can also try a horse-drawn sleigh ride. It’s a wonderfully relaxing way to travel down the main road, Xueyun Avenue.
Dream Home (Meng Huan Jia Yuan) - The Most Famous Photo Spot


Dream Home, the map shows it sits on the main street's east side. his courtyard showcases the most photographed snow mushrooms in China.
In the evening, Dream Home puts on a beautiful light show. Colorful lights project onto the iconic "snow mushrooms," making the pure white snow glow in a rainbow of colors.
You can also see a traditional Northeast Errenzhuan performance, a lively show of local comedy and song. The performance is indoors.
Bangchui Shan Wooden Boardwalk: The Free Wooden Boardwalk


The map shows this mountain rising up behind the village. For a fantastic view without paying for Dream Home, find the free wooden boardwalk on your map. A wooden walkway climbs 400 meters up the hillside.
It’s a raised path that winds behind some of the houses, giving you an elevated view over the village rooftops. It’s perfect for taking photos.

The map shows Yangcao Mountain on the village's northwestern edge. It’s the number one spot to go for watching the sunrise, as the first light hits the smoking chimneys and snow-covered roofs below.

On the eastern side of the village, you'll find two ski resorts: the Dabao Ski Resort and the Xuexiang Ski Resort.

Finding a good place to stay in China Snow Town is simple, as there are many hotels and guesthouses right inside the village.
If you want the most convenient and immersive experience, stay at a hotel on the main road, Xueyun Street. If you dream of waking up to perfect snowy views from your window, look for a hotel near the beautiful Dream Home park.
However, staying inside Snow Town can be expensive. If you are looking for the best value, choosing a place outside the main village is a better option.
Recommended spots include the Yongan Forest Farm, about 10 kilometers away, or the town of Erlanghe, which is about 46 kilometers away.
What to Eat
When it's time to eat, you'll find plenty of warm and wonderful options. For a truly authentic and cozy meal, you can't go wrong with Dafu Restaurant (大福烧烤农家菜), which is famous for its homestyle stewed goose.
Another great choice is Xueyun Ge Restaurant (雪韵阁餐厅), which serves classic and hearty Northeast "iron pot" stews.
If you're looking for something quick with a lot of variety, the buffet at the Guoying Restaurant (国营自助餐厅) is the perfect choice, especially for groups.

Harbin to China Snow Town Map

This is the most popular route for international travelers.
Option 1: By Car/bus. The route follows Highway 301 southeast for 318 kilometers. The journey takes 5-6 hours.
Option 2: The train-plus-bus combination starts at Harbin Station. Take the high-speed rail to Yabuli West, then transfer to buses. The map shows both stations and the connection process. This option takes 4 hours total

Yabuli serves as the gateway for train travelers. Our map shows the 90-kilometer mountain road in detail.
The scenic spots along this route deserve attention. The map marks Bald Mountain viewpoint and the frozen waterfall. These aren't official stops, but drivers usually pause if you ask. The journey takes 2-2.5 hours.
