Tainan Railway Station (Most Recommended)
Tainan Railway Station sits in East District, about 2.5 kilometers east of the historic city center. This is your most convenient arrival point. From here, you can reach West Central District's main attractions in 15-20 minutes by city bus or taxi.
Tainan Airport
Tainan Airport is located much further south in South District, about 8 kilometers from the city center. Getting to the historic area takes 25-30 minutes by taxi.
The airport is quite small and mainly serves domestic flights to Taipei and some charter flights. Public bus connections exist but take longer with transfers.
Tainan HSR Station (Tainangaotie Station)
Tainan High Speed Rail Station sits way outside the main city in Gueiren District, roughly 15 kilometers northeast of the city center. This creates the longest journey to downtown - about 30-40 minutes by taxi.
However, shuttle buses connect the HSR station to Tainan Railway Station every 15-20 minutes.
