Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station is super close to Hongqiao Airport, and it's only about a 20 km journey to downtown Shanghai. You've got lots of options to get there: subway lines 10, 17, or 2, bus, or taxi. It takes about 1 hour.

Shanghai Station is the closest train station to downtown Shanghai, just about 3.7 miles away. You can get there in 20-40 minutes by taking the subway lines 1, 3, or 4, or by bus or taxi. It's really easy to connect Shanghai Station to the city center.

Shanghai has 7 train stations, but most travelers use three: Shanghai Hongqiao (busiest), Shanghai Station (central), and Shanghai Songjiang (suburbs). The others (Jinshan, West Shanghai, etc.) are rarely needed.

Boarding steps:

Situated in Xishan District, Wuxi East is a major high-speed railway hub for the city, offering direct access to Wuxi Metro Line 2.

Wuxi has five railway stations, with Wuxi Railway Station and Wuxi East Station handling most arrivals.

Wuxi Railway Station (无锡站) offers the best location in the city center, just 2 km from major attractions - a 10-minute taxi ride or 15-minute bus journey.

Wuxi East Station (无锡东站) lies 8 km from downtown, requiring a 20-minute taxi or 30-minute metro ride.

Jiangyin (江阴站): 30 km away (45 mins by taxi). Near factories, not sightseeing.

Huishan (惠山站): 15 km from center (25 mins by taxi). Close to Huishan Ancient Town.

New District (无锡新区站): 20 km out (30 mins by taxi). For business parks.

Unlike Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, there are no direct high-speed trains from Shanghai Pudong Airport to Wuxi. You'll need to first travel to either Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station or Shanghai Railway Station.

How to reach these stations:

  • To Shanghai Hongqiao Station (fastest):Take the Airport Shuttle Bus Line 1 (50 minutes).
  • To Shanghai Station:Ride Subway Line 2 to Century Avenue ➔ Transfer to Line 4 (80 minutes).
