Where is Fanjingshan? Location & Map
Fanjingshan (Mount Fanjing) is located in Tongren City, in the northeastern part of Guizhou Province, southwest China. It sits at the junction of Jiangkou County, Yinjiang County, and Songtao County, rising majestically from the Wuling Mountains.

At an elevation of 2,572 meters (8,438 feet), Fanjingshan is not only the highest peak in the Wuling range but also one of China's most sacred Buddhist mountains. It's remote but accessible, making it a peaceful retreat for nature lovers and pilgrims alike.

From there, it's about 1.5–2 hours by car to reach either the East Gate (most popular for tourists due to the cable car access) or the West Gate (ideal for hikers).

How to Plan a Fanjingshan Tour?
Usually, you need one full day to explore Fanjing Mountain.
For a Standard visit (cable car + hiking), it’s around 5–6 hours round-trip from the East Gate entrance.
This includes taking the sightseeing bus, cable car, and hiking to major spots like Red Clouds Golden Summit, Old Golden Summit, Mushroom Stone, and Cheng’en Temple.
During the peak season, you may need 1-2 hours to queue up to reach the iconic Red Clouds Golden Summit.
